Parents of Nicole Scherzinger

On 29th June 1978, she was born in Honolulu, Hawaii as Nicole Prascovia Elikolani Valiente. Nicole is the only child of her parents' Alfonso Valiente and Rosemary Elikolani. Her father Alfonso abandoned the family when she was two years old. Her mom Elikolani married German-American Gary Scherzinger. She along with her family relocated the family to Louisville, Kentucky. She joined Wright State University on a scholarship, majoring in theater arts while also studying dance as a minor after high school. Nicole started appearing in musical performances when she was still a college student. Having American nationality, Scherzinger is of Filipino & Native Hawaiian ethnicity.


Career

In the year 1999, she started her musical career and collaborated with the band Days of the New. After contributing vocals to their record, Scherzinger quit college to join the band on tour. A few years later, she had her appearance on the reality TV program Popstars, which served as a sort of forerunner to the Idol series. "Get Over Yourself," their debut single, performed well on the charts and peaked at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100. The Billboard Top 200 chart saw the release of their debut album, Popstars, at position six. After struggling to succeed as a solo performer, Scherzinger was told about an open audition for the Pussycat Dolls. She not only secured a slot, but she also rose to the position of lead vocalist, taking on most of the vocal duties. The ground-breaking song "Don't Cha," from the 2005 album, propelled Scherzinger and the Pussycat Dolls to global fame.

Scherzinger could pursue her solo career more easily now that she had established herself with the Pussycat Dolls. In 2006, she began collaborating on records with musicians such as Avant and Diddy, allowing her to chart as a solo artist for the first time. Doll Domination, the group's fourth album, debuted at number four on the Billboard Top 200 in 2004. Many of the album's most memorable songs were created by Scherzinger for her solo album. Scherzinger's leading role in the group caused internal strife, and the Pussycat Dolls went on hiatus in 2009. She quickly found work as a judge on The Sing-Off's inaugural season. Also, Nicole featured as a judge in The X Factor UK. In the year 2011, her debut studio album, Killer Love, released. Again, she replaced Cheryl Cole as a judge on The X Factor US.

She returned to The X Factor UK as a judge after appearing in Men in Black 3 in 2012, with a rumored salary of $1.17 million as part of the arrangement. She signed a new record deal with Sony in 2014,  reportedly worth $4.5 million. She also won the reality competition program I Can Do That in the year 2015. She later appeared on another reality program called Bring the Noise before portraying Sina in the animated blockbuster Moana. In 2017, she starred in the Dirty Dancing reboot, which got mixed reviews. Scherzinger featured on The Masked Singer and Australia's Got Talent in 2019. She played Miranda Trese in Trese, a Netflix original anime series that aired on June 10, 2021. Nicole portrayed Grace Farrell in the NBC musical television special Annie Live!, which aired on December 2, 2021.

Previously, she got engaged to Nick Hexum, lead singer of 311 & in a relationship from the year 2000 to 2004. Nicole dated Lewis Hamilton, Formula 1 World Champion when they met at the 2007 MTV Europe Music Awards in Munich. In February 2015, the duo got spilt. She dated Bulgarian tennis player Grigor Dimitrov in 2016, then got split in early 2019.
