American television personality, Nadya Suleman is well-known among the public as "Octomom." After a media flurry that started in late 2008 when it was disclosed that she will soon give birth to eight infants produced through IVF.

Who is Nadya Suleman Parents? 

On July 11, 1975, she was born in Fullerton, California, with her birth name Nadya Denise Doud-Suleman. She is the only child of her parents Edward Doud and Angela Victoria Suleman. Her father was a restaurant owner who had previously served as a translator in Iraq, and mother Angela, a schoolteacher. Having American nationality, Suleman is of Lithuanian and Palestinian ethnicity. She enrolled at Nogales High School located in La Puente, California.

Later, she earned a psychiatric technician license at Mt. San Antonio College located in Walnut, California. Nadya graduated with a B.S. in child development. Then she joined California State University located in Fullerton, CA. 


Career 

She began working for three years at a state mental hospital in California right after graduating. Suleman and recording artist Adam Barta collaborated on a song in June 2012 after she featured in a different version of the latter's "Q&A" music video and was overheard stating, "Let's do a duet, on my new album!. She starred in the Wicked Pictures-produced movie Octomom Home Alone in the year 2012. Octomom Home Alone garnered four AVN Award nominations and a win for Best Celebrity Video in December 2012.

Suleman performed as a dancer for adults at men's clubs. She and Adam Barta collaborated on the song "Sexy Party" in September; the cover of the CD had him holding her breasts while lying on a bed surrounded by crucifixes; she said that Madonna's work served as inspiration for the image. Suleman received payment in October 2012 to take part in the debut of the online discussion forum Deeyoon.com, which included a parenting-related online debate with Michael Lohan.

Bankruptcy & Controversy of Nadya Suleman

In April 2012, Suleman submitted a Chapter 13 bankruptcy petition. She owed $1 million in debt and had $50,000 in assets. Shortly after she filed, the La Habra house she bought went up for auction. Prior to that, she had been charged with child negligence due to her spending thousands of dollars on personal services for herself, such as haircuts. However, social workers decided after visiting the residence that the children were safe and should stay there.

Suleman booked herself into a rehab facility in Los Angeles in October 2012 due to weariness, stress, and worry. She was charged with welfare fraud in January 2014 by the state of California. Nadya reportedly neglected to declare her personal earnings of $30,000. She was given a sentence of two years of probation and 200 hours of community service after entering a no-contest plea to the misdemeanor of welfare fraud.


Is Nadya Suleman Still Married? 

Nadya Suleman isn't still married to her husband. Her present relationship is kept private. Therefore, it's hard to determine whether Suleman has a boyfriend or not. Suleman and Gutierrez got separated in the year 2000. Eventually, they officially got divorced in January 2008. The duo was unable to have any kids out of their marriage. Her husband Marco did not want her to try in-vitro fertilization, which led to their divorce.

Suleman began IVF treatment in 1997 at the age of 21 under the supervision of her doctor Dr. Michael Kamrava. In the year 2001, she gave birth to her first son Elijah Makai Solomon. In the year 2002, she gave birth to her first daughter Amerah Yasmeen Solomon. Well, she continued IVF treatments as a result, Nadya became the mother of two more sons, Joshua and Aidan. Also, she gave birth to fraternal twins, Calyssa and Caleb, for a total of six children: four sons, & two daughters. Later, she asked for the simultaneous implantation of six embryos into her uterus. Dr. Kamrava had really transplanted 12, it was later discovered.

Typically, a lady of Suleman's age would get no more than three embryos in each transfer. Suleman gave birth to octuplets in January 2009, making them just the second set of octuplets to be born alive in the United States. The use of assisted reproductive technologies and Suleman has generated debate. The California Medical Board looked into her doctor. In transplanting 12 embryos, they discovered that Kamrava showed an "extreme departure from the standard of care." In 2011, his license was withdrawn and he was expelled from the American Society for Reproductive Medicine as a result of their findings.


Suleman's Media Frenzy 

The octuplets' arrival sparked a worldwide media frenzy that was generally unfavorable, & nickname "Octomom" by the media. She encountered demonstrators on her front lawn and got several death threats every day. The babies were discharged from the hospital over a variety of time periods due to health issues. The Killeen Furtney Law Group was promptly retained by Suleman to represent her, but they withdrew from the case once they too started getting death threats.

Suleman sat down with Ann Curry for the first of numerous TV interviews in February 2009. She was profiled in a Star magazine issue and made two appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show. In March 2012, she posed seminude for the UK magazine Closer. In the year 2017, Suleman had an interview for the Bravo program "Andy Cohen's Then & Now."
