She is the daughter of parents Jim Dreyer but her mother's info is kept private. On August 2, 1981, Dylan Marie Dreyer was born and raised in Manalapan Township, New Jersey. Also, she has two siblings brothers Mike and James. Having American nationality, Dreyer is of white ethnicity.
She joined Manalapan High School located in Englishtown, New Jersey. In the year 1999, Dylan graduated from High School where she played softball. Dylan was in a car accident in February 2013 while traveling from New York to Hartford, Connecticut, to cover a blizzard for "Today," suffering a moderate concussion as a result. Since 2012, she has been working for "Weekend Today" as well as "Today" since 2013. In 2019, she took over as the host of the "live action, half-hour television program that will take viewers on an incredible journey to the wildest points of the globe, uncovering the connection between the environment, wildlife, and humans of exotic locales," "Earth Odyssey with Dylan Dreyer," a nature education program.

The couple blessed with their second child, a son, Oliver, born on January 2, 2020. Dylan gave birth to her third child, a son, Russell James, born on September 29, 2021. Her son Russell was born five pounds, five ounces early, and spent a week in the neonatal critical care unit, was born six weeks before Dylan's due date. Dylan and Brian were attempting for a second child, & subsequently given the diagnosis of secondary infertility. She along with her family live in the New York area.
