In Queens, New York City, he was born as the second son of Albert Romano, and Lucie Romano. Her mother Lucie, a piano teacher, and father Albert, a real estate agent and engineer. On December 21, 1957, he was born with the birth name Raymond Albert Romano. Also, Romano shared two Emmy Awards as an executive producer when his show won Outstanding Comedy Series in 2003 and 2005. At the White House Correspondents' Association dinner in 1998, Romano delivered the opening monologue. In 2008, Romano made a comeback on television with Men of a Certain Age, a new dramedy for TNT that he co-created with Mike Royce, a former writer for Everybody Loves Raymond. He appeared in the third-season premiere of the ABC sitcom The Middle as Nicky, a friend of Mike, who ruined his and Frankie's honeymoon.
