Hilaree Nelson's Parents

Hilaree Nelson was the daughter of parents' Stanley Nelson and Robin Nelson, born on 13 December 1972. She grew up at Stevens Pass in the Washington Cascades. Hilaree had American nationality and belonged to the English ethnicity. Well, information on her two siblings brothers missing. 

At the age of three, she started skiing at Stevens Pass. In her neighborhood, she completed her primary education in a private school. She bought a one-way ticket to Chamonix, France after graduating from college. Likewise, Hilaree exerted great effort to thrive in basketball, soccer, and track. 


Career of Hilaree Nelson

Before starting her professional career, Nelson worked as The North Face global athletic team captain. Also, she became a team member on the 2012 Montana State University Everest Education Expedition. Then Hilaree was a National Geographic Explorers grant recipient, and a member of over 40 expeditions. She had first ski descents on Baffin and South Georgia Islands, Argentina, Kamchatka, Russia, and the Tetons.

She had written for publications such as National Geographic Adventure, The Ski Journal, and the Outside Journal. In one 24-hour push on May 25, 2012, she became the first woman to summit two 8000-meter peaks (Everest and Lhotse). She along with her partner Jim Morrison made the first ski descent of the "Dream Line", the Lhotse Couloir from the summit on September 30, 2018.

The world's fourth-highest peak, Lhotse, shares a saddle with Mount Everest. Likewise, she was named one of "The 25 Most Adventurous Women of the Past 25 Years" by Men's Journal & named one of National Geographic's 2018 Adventurers of the Year. Also, she was part of the "She Moves Mountains" campaign between The North Face and Girl Scouts of the USA.

In 1996, she became European Women's Extreme Skiing Champion. Also, she was the first female descent of Bubble Fun Couloir, Tetons, USA. Then she skied from the summit of Denali, Messner Couloir, USA, on June 16, 2011. On September 22, 2005, she skied from the summit of Cho Oyu, Tibet.

Also, she skied from the summit of Cho Oyu, Tibet, on September 22, 2005. Likewise, she became the first female to climb Everest and Lhotse in 24 hours, in Nepal, on May 25, 2012. Well, Hilaree was the first to ski all five "Holy Peaks", Mongolian Altai. In 2015, she became the first female descent from Makalu La Couloir, Nepal. In 2017, she first ski descent of Papsura, India.

Unfortunately, they couldn't maintain their married life and eventually got divorced. As per reports, Hilaree got divorced from her husband Brain after 14 years of their married life.

The couple's passion leads the, together. Also, they were together in Manaslu, Samagaun, when she died. She claimed that her two boys are a little crazy and enjoy skiing.


What Happened To Hilaree Nelson?

Hilaree Nelson disappeared while skiing down Manaslu, the eighth-highest mountain in the world. She vanished on the same day that an avalanche hit the peak. During that time, she was traversing and took the life of a Nepali climber.

After she and her partner Jim Morrison scaled Manaslu, the event happened as they were skiing down. Two days later, her body was found in Manaslu, Samagaun. Likewise, the rescue process by helicopter had hampered by bad weather. 


Hilaree Nelson's Cause of Death

Well, Hilaree Nelson's cause of death natural cause that an Avalanche. At the age of 49, she passed away. Her body was taken to the Sherpa cremation grounds in Kathmandu from a hospital morgue on the back of an open truck. She was decorated with a poster of her and decked with garlands of flowers.
