At the age of 45, she died from accidental carbon monoxide poisoning. Eventually, Edwin and June got divorced after nine years of their marriage in 1966. After divorce from his first wife June, he married again to his 2nd wife Ira Pilkinton. As per reports, they got married around 1985 in front of their parents, relatives, and family members. The married couple was still together before the time of Edwin’s death.

The prime cause of her death from complications following heart-valve replacement surgery.
