Joan Lunden is still married happily to her husband Jeff Konigsberg. Jeff is actual her 2nd husband. She found love again at 50 after a painful divorce. At the age of 50, Lunden rediscovered love and got married to Konigsberg. Joan's husband Jeff is the owner of Camp Takajo. Since then, they have been happily married sharing life's ups & downs. Previously, Joan was married to her first husband Michael A. Krauss. They got married in the year 1980. Joan and Krauss stayed together for five more years before divorcing in 1992.

With her first husband Michael, Lunden welcomed her eldest daughter, Jamie Krauss, born July 4, 1980. Then she welcomed her 2nd child a daughter, Lindsay Kraus, born in 1983. Again, Joan blessed with 3rd child, a daughter Sarah Emily Krauss, born in 1987.

Lunden with her 2nd husband Jeff blessed with twins Max Aaron Konigsberg and Kate Elizabeth Konigsberg, born in June 2003. The married couple love struggled to conceive children on their own years before their kiddos arrived. Joan and Konigsberg able to turn to surrogacy to welcome their son and daughter.

They welcomed a second set of twins Kimberly Konigsberg and Jack Konigsberg, born in March 2005. Having enjoyed their surrogacy experience so much, the couple asked their former surrogate to do it again. Also, Lunden became a spokesman for surrogacy and an inspiration for women over 50.


What Happened to Joan Lunden?

Joan Lunden revealed on Good Morning America that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer on Tuesday, June 24, 2014. After she was diagnosed with breast cancer, Joan said this feeling intensified. Actually, she was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer. She was declared cancer-free nine months after her diagnosis.

She had two tumors removed during a lumpectomy, followed by six weeks of radiation and 16 rounds of chemotherapy. Joan has been cancer free for more than 5 years and is extra grateful for her beautiful children. She launched Alive with Joan Lunden, a streaming network dedicated to breast cancer and women's health in 2015. Lunden said; 


“I remember someone said, ‘You’re going to go in for breast cancer treatment one person, and you’re going to come out another,’ and they were absolutely right,” “You have a better understanding of the true love and compassion and support that come from friends and family.”

Then she added 

“I find myself driving along the road to my office and looking around, and there can be a slow driver in front of me, and instead of being irritated with him, I’m saying, ‘Man, are these trees beautiful!’ ” “I don’t know if I would have been in that [headspace] five years ago.”

 

Who is Joan Lunden?

Joan Elise Blunden aka Joan Lunden is an American journalist, an author, and a television host, born on September 19, 1950. She is the daughter of Gladyce Lorraine (née Somervill) (mother) and her father Dr. Erle Murray Blunden, a physician. She was born and raised in Sacramento County, California. Joan earned a Liberal Arts degree from California State University, Sacramento. At the former Mexico City campus of Universidad de Las Americas, she studied Spanish and anthropology.

In New Jersey, she taught a broadcast journalism course at Montclair State College. The first news anchor job, she had was at KCRA-TV. As co-anchor of the daily noon television news program for Channel 3 (KCRA) and radio, she began her broadcasting career in Sacramento, California. Aside from producing the noon news broadcast, she also hosted KCRA's television specials.

From the year 1980 to 1997, she was the co-host of ABC's Good Morning America. Also, she has authored eight books. Lunden has been featured on the Biography program and Biography Channel. Lunden joined NBC's Today in 2014 as a special correspondent. She took over as host of the PBS program Second Opinion in the year 2021. Joan Lunden earned an estimated net worth of $25 Million.
