American golfer, Lexi Thompson who plays on the LPGA excursion. She rose to popularity as the youngest golfer ever to qualify to play in the US Women's Open. Also, Lexi is popular for her appearance in the LPGA tournament and the Dubai Ladies Masters. She has won several awards since she began her professional golf career, including being the youngest LPGA major champion.

Lexi Thompson is yet to be married, therefore, she doesn't have a husband. She has successfully kept her personal and love life away from the public and media. Her love life has not been revealed despite being in the spotlight for more than a decade.

Likewise, Stacy is an American professional golfer on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour. Two major championships have been won by her: the Kraft Nabisco Championship in 2011 and the Women's British Open in 2013.

Gerrod is the 5th head coach in the program's history. Previously, he spent eight seasons as the leader of the University of Houston women's golf team. Three Cougars competed at the NCAA Championships after he took the team to six-consecutive NCAA Regionals.


Why Did Lexi Thompson Take A Break From Golf? 

In mid-2018, Thompson took a break from golf to deal with on and off the course issues. She announced via Instagram that she was taking a break from golf on 25th July 2018. She said

“The events of the past year and a half (on and off the golf course) have taken a tremendous toll on me both mentally and emotionally,” 

 Then she wrote

“I have not truly felt like myself for quite some time. I am therefore taking this time to recharge my mental batteries, and to focus on myself away from professional golf.” 

Before her break, Lexi had experienced a rough 18 months. In addition to losing at the ANA Inspiration due to a rules infringement, she had lost her grandmother, and her mother was diagnosed with cancer for the second time. During her break time, she spent time with her family and friends and resumed professional golf a month later at the Indy Women In Tech Championship. Thompson said;

“It was just so much to deal with, and I had to show that I was still okay and still play golf. And I don’t even know how I played that well, honestly. And I think it just kind of all hit me coming into this year… People need to realize that. I am not just a robot out here. I need to have a life.”

 

Lexi Thompson Parents 

After recognizing her golfing talent Lexi's parents homeschooled her. She is the daughter of parents Judy Thompson (mother), and father Scott Thompson. Her parents raised Lexi in Coral Springs, Florida, alongside her two siblings brothers, Nicholas Thompson and Curtis Thompson. At the age of 5, she grew up in a golfing family and started to play.

Seeing Lexi's talents, her parents decided to home-school her in sixth grade so she could practice more. Thompson gained more golfing skills, but she lost friends from elementary school as a result of the decision. Also, she shares a close bond with her parents and brothers. On her Instagram bio, she describes herself as a ‘family-oriented girl’. In an interview with Golf, Lexi explained why she feels it is important to have family members around as she plays:

“My dad’s been my coach my whole life. If I have him on the bag, I know he can help me out tremendously. Same thing with Curtis. He knows my golf swing very well too. He can always keep me laughing out there. So with either of them, I know I’m going to do well and just feel comfortable out on the golf course and a lot less pressure.”
