Early Life of Gheorghe Muresan
On February 14, 1971, Gheorghe Muresan was born in Tritenii de Jos, Cluj County, Romania. He is the son of parents Ion Muresan (father) and mother Marian Muresan. Life was hard for his family during their stay in rural Romania. His dad Ion worked in a factory that generated wiring for electricity. He grew up in a house which had four bedrooms but no electricity.
Later, he moved to big room when his elder brother moved out. Also, he has a sibling sister Iliana Muresan. He didn't like schools much as Gheorghe was not set free. Likewise, he used to miss doing home-works due to his sleep and wasn't a disciplined guy. However, he completed his education from Cluj University.
Career of Gheorghe Muresan
He debuted professionally in the French League for the team Pau-Orthez in 1992 for a year after graduating from college. Also, he has managed to take the French League Cup. Muresan moved to Washington to pursue his career in the NBA in the year 1993. He was drafted in the second round (30th pick) of the 1993 NBA Draft on 30 June 1993 by the Washington Bullets (rebranded as Washington Wizards in 1997).

Gheorghe prolonged his professional career for seven long years in NBA until injuries wrecked him. He went out terrifically good for the season 1995, where he notched 14.5 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.26 blocks per game while talking about his beat season. Likewise, he was titled the NBA’s Most Improved Player after leading the league-leading with 58.4 percent of his field goals.

Gheorghe ended his NBA career with 9.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, 0.5 assists, and 1.48 blocks per game. In the year 2001, he retired from his NBA career because of his back surgery. Muresan played basketball for one season with Pau-Orthez in the French league after retiring from the NBA. He founded Giant Basketball Academy in 2004, an Ashburn, Virginia-based basketball club devoted to teaching the fundamentals of basketball. Also, Gheorghe is the vice president of the Romanian Basketball Federation.

Surgery of Gheorghe Muresan
Gheorghe has his own side of struggles and obviously seen a lot in his life. In France, he encountered surgery for a hyperactive pituitary gland, which caused him to grow rapidly. As per reports, his optic nerve was disrupted by the tumor on his pituitary gland, putting his eyesight at risk.

They welcomed their first child a son Gheorghe Muresan Jr who was born on 23 April 1998. Then the duo blessed with their 2nd child a son Victor Muresan, who was born on 22 October 2000. Both of Gheorghe's kids followed the footsteps of their father and pursued careers in basketball. The Muresan family resided in Franklin Lakes but now moved to suburban Washington, D.C.
