He is the son of parents Richard Stevenson Parker Sr (father) and mother Sarah Meade. His dad Parker Sr, an investment advisor, and mom Meade an actress who worked on Broadway and in numerous television commercials. He was born and raised on the Main Line of Philadelphia. During the 1983 film Stroker Ace, he played Burt Reynolds' brash race-car driving nemesis, Aubrey James. Stevenson starred in the 1986 television miniseries North and South: Book II as Billy Hazard. In 1988, he played the leading role of Austin James in the TV series Probe. He was a member of the original Baywatch cast in 1989 and returned for the syndicated seasons in 1997 and 1998.
