Laura Kenny's Siblings

On April 24, 1992, Laura Kenny was born to British parents in Harlow, Essex, England. She is the daughter of father Adrian Trott and mother Glenda Trott. Her full name is Dame Laura Rebecca Kenny and birth sign is Taurus. Having British nationality, Laura is of English ethnicity.

She grew up in Cheshunt in Hertfordshire and enrolled at Haileybury Turnford School located in Cheshunt, England. She joined the University of Essex located in Colchester, England. Health Issues of Laura Kenny

In Harlow Essex, she was born a month prematurely with a collapsed lung. Later, Laura was diagnosed with asthma. Then doctors advised her to take up the sport in order to regulate her breathing. Her breathing problems forced her to give up trampolining, which she enjoyed.

Career of Kenny

In the years 2009 and 2010, Kenny won two junior titles at the British National Track Championships. At the age of 18, she placed third in the individual pursuit at the latter to win a place in the 2010 European Track Championships team pursuit squad. In 2011, she won a world title for the first time as part of the team pursuit squad, following her gold at the Euros. After winning two European golds, lead-up to the 2012 Olympics, she qualified for the Great Britain team for both events and made her Olympic debut.

She won a gold medal in the team pursuit with Dani King and Joanna Rowsell at the 2012 Summer Olympics. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, the team set a world record time of 3:14.051. They rode six times together, including in the Olympic final, and broke the world record in every event. Two days after winning gold in the team pursuit, she also won gold in the omnium.

Since her first appearance at the European Track Championships in 2010, she has won seven World Championships, fourteen European Championships, and one Commonwealth Games title. She has accumulated 33 medals in total. After winning the British National Road Race Championships in 2014 and the under-23 championships in the same race, Kenny hasn't competed since 2015. Among British female athletes, Laura is the most successful cyclist and the most successful British athlete.
