As a competitor of Skolkovo Innovation Center, Innopraktika is labeled as the "anti-Skolkovo" by Stanislav Belkovsky. On February 20, 2020, Innopraktika announced that Tikhonova was appointed the new director of the Moscow State University institute of artificial intelligence. After successfully defending her dissertation in May 2019, Tikhonova received her degree in physics and mathematics. In the scientific article, the work was titled "Mathematical problems of correcting vestibular mechanoreceptor activity". Tikhonova was appointed by the Government of Russia to the Council for the Development of Physical Culture and Mass Sports in December 2019.
Katerina's Acrobatic Dancing
Tikhonova was fond of acrobatic rock'n'roll in the mid-2010s, a non-Olympic sport that has only about two hundred people in the world ranking. At a 2013 world championship event in Switzerland, she and her partner Ivan Klimov came in fifth place. The pair took second place at the 2014 Russian Championship.
