The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted him in the third round of the 1997 NFL Draft, and he went on to play for the New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs before he retired. For three seasons following his retirement as a player, Vrabel coached Ohio State's linebackers and defensive line.
