He recorded his first hat trick against Phoenix Coyotes while plating for the Blackhawks. However, he led the Blackhawks to the title of the Stanley Cup in the year 2010. In the year 2010, the Blackhawks traded him to the Atlanta Thrashers. Dustin was quickly appointed the alternate captain of the team within a few months.
